Half a million gone! Burglary shock for soccer star and wife
Los Angeles (USA) - The US metropolis of Los Angeles is home to many celebrities. In the shadow of the world-famous Hollywood logo, lavish mansions and magnificent buildings are lined up one after the other. However, these not only attract celebrities - but also burglars, as Olivier Giroud (38) and his partner Jennifer have now found out.
The two have been targeted by crooks in their new home, reports celebrity portalTMZ, citing information from the police.
According to the report, items worth a high six-figure sum were stolen from the 2018 world champion.
Specifically, the as yet unknown perpetrators are said to have stolen jewelry worth around half a million US dollars (equivalent to around 478,000 euros) from the 38-year-old.
According to the police, Giroud's wife reported the burglary herself after discovering a smashed window in the house.
Olivier Giroud winds down his career in Los Angeles
In July of last year, Giroud moved from top Italian club AC Milan to Los Angeles FC. Since then, he has been winding down his successful career as a professional footballer together with compatriot Hugo Lloris (38).
He won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea FC London in 2021 and the Europa League title two years earlier. His biggest sporting coup came in 2018, when he became world champion with the French national team.
