North Wales (Great Britain) - When his owner saw him like this, her heart melted. But golden retriever Bailey was soon to show a different side of himself - one that now brings tears of laughter.

The male dog from North Wales in the UK met lambs and sheep for the first time in his life around four years ago. Kathrine Jensen moved with the dog into a house where a shepherd still lives today.

In an interview with Newsweek this week, the owner said of the first encounter between the dissimilar animals: "He was very fascinated by them and just sat next to the fence and stared at them for ages."

What initially seemed so blissful was soon to turn into the opposite. "I think he thinks the sheep and lambs are dogs and he wants to play with them," explained Jensen.

What exactly that means can be seen in a curious video on TikTok. In it, Bailey shows what else he has in him.

How could it be otherwise with a playful dog: the calm is followed by a storm. Bailey, who has just been watching the lambs, suddenly jumps up and runs off. The young animals take flight and run away in panic.

The twist is well received by the TikTok audience. The clip has already racked up more than 200,000 clicks since January 10. But are things really as they seem?

A postscript from Bailey's mistress makes you sit up and take notice: "What people can't see in the very short video clip is that Bailey and the lambs kept coming back to the same spot and doing the same thing over and over again."

So the little ones are not afraid of the golden retriever at all, but enjoy having fun with him.

A small drop of bitterness: even if the furry friend doesn't like it at all, the fence unfortunately has to stay between him and the farm animals.
