Liverpool (UK) - Can the billionaire keep his hands off sport? In an interview, Errol Musk (79), the father of Elon Musk (53), was asked whether his son would like to buy a soccer club.

After becoming an investor, Elon Musk (53) could cheer not only in the US election campaign, but also in the soccer stadium.

The interview was conducted by Times Radio London, which invited the multi-billionaire's father as a guest, reports Daily Mail.

Since Donald Trump 's (78) victory in the 2024 US election, Trump and Musk have been more connected than ever. The two have been spotted together as spectators at a UFC fight or a college football game.

However, the South African native has another great weakness for soccer. As his father Errol revealed, Elon has been toying with the idea of becoming an investor in a club in the Premier League, the highest English league, for some time.

Elon would naturally favor his favorite club, Liverpool FC, where Jürgen Klopp was head coachuntil the middle of last year.

Errol did not want to reveal whether there had already been contact between Elon and the English club, but he did talk about the deep connection that the Musk family has with the "Reds".

For example, Errol mentioned that his mother, Elon's grandmother, was born in Liverpool in 1923 and grew up there. In a post on the X platform , Elon described his grandmother as follows: "She was very strict, but also very kind and I could always count on her."

In the event that Elon Musk had a serious interest in taking over the club, he would have to agree a price with the current owner, John Henry (75).

But the world's richest man should not be short ofmoney.
