As News18 reports, the mother was in labor when the BNH Hospital in Bangkok was evacuated as a result of the earthquake.

Patients were taken to a nearby park as a precaution, as it was not possible to determine whether the hospital building was in danger of collapsing due to the natural disaster .

Videos and pictures from the scene show how patients had to leave the hospital on stretchers, wheelchairs and beds. Among them was the expectant mother, who shortly afterwards gave birth to her child on a street in the middle of the chaos.

In a viral clip, you can see the baby being born on the patient's bed, surrounded by doctors, nurses and other hospital inmates outside the clinic.

According to the recording, mother and child appear to be doing well under the circumstances. At least the newborn is crying loudly, which indicates that it has started to breathe after birth.

The 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck on Friday afternoon (local time) with an epicenter near Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. Thailand, China and Vietnam also felt the foothills of the quake.
