Dog does nothing wrong: reason why he still has to go back to the shelter breaks hearts
Eastford (Connecticut) - What a poor Prince: that's the name of the male dog from Connecticut who has been through a lot since he was a puppy. But what has happened to him now is breaking hearts by the dozen at his shelter.
Prince has already had an eventful life. If his current shelter, PawSafe Animal Rescue, had not once rescued him from another shelter with a high kill rate, he would probably have been euthanized long ago.
But Prince hasn't had much luck with his rescuers either. He was taken in by a kind man who promised to offer him a permanent home. But soon afterwards, the American was back at the door with the dog.
"When he received a job offer that required a lot of travel, he chose to prioritize his career over providing a stable home for Prince," Diane Mangold, the director of PawSafe, said in an interview with Newsweek.
The reason why the return of the four-legged friend broke the hearts of so many at the shelter was because Prince was not at fault in the slightest.
Mangold has a clear opinion about the furry friend.
The animal shelter discusses Prince's sad story on Facebook
"He loves everyone he meets, plays well with other dogs in the playground and longs for nothing more than to rest his head on a loving lap," says the shelter director.
Her protégé has been in a very bad way since being "returned". "Prince is understandably sad, confused and lonely," says Mangold. Recent photos from the shelter show the four-legged friend with sad eyes in his kennel.
"He watches hopefully as people walk by (...) Despite this setback, Prince remains remarkably resilient," the animal lover told the US magazine.
As far as his future home is concerned, the male dog is a real all-rounder. Whether children or other dogs - he gets on well with everyone.
Now his carers are hoping that someone will soon appreciate this.
