Crown princess's scandalous son in custody - another sex offense known
Oslo - The eldest son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit (51), Marius Borg Høiby (27), has been remanded in custody for a week. This was decided by the Oslo District Court. There are a number of charges against the 27-year-old, including two sexual offenses.
A second incident had been uncovered, said Andreas Kruszewski, the Oslo police prosecutor in charge of the case, after the end of a detention hearing in the Norwegian capital.
An investigation is now underway. As in the other case, it is about sexual contact with a woman who was unable to resist the act.
New allegations have beenmade against Høiby in recent months, including assault against ex-girlfriends and damage to property.
Decision expected in the course of the day
On Tuesday, the police expanded the allegations to include a sexual offense, which Høiby denied through his lawyer Øyvind Bratlien.
Specifically, according to the police, this involves sexual contact without intercourse with a person who is unconscious or unable to resist the act for other reasons.
Høiby also denies the new accusation, as Bratlien told the radio station NRK. Both accusations are "catastrophic misjudgements" by the prosecutor.
Høiby is one of Mette-Marit's three children and comes from a previous relationship with the princess. Together with heir to the throne Crown Prince Haakon (51), the Crown Princess has two other children, Hereditary Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20) and Prince Sverre Magnus (18).
Although Høiby is a member of the royal family, he does not bear the title of prince and is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family.
