Collapse after explosion in residential building - several injured!
The Hague (Netherlands) - First it exploded, then it collapsed: a residential building in The Hague in the Netherlands has become the scene of a catastrophe.
As the security portal"Haaglanden veilig" reported, a three-storey residential building in the north-east of the city collapsed in parts at around 6.15 a.m. as a result of an explosion. The explosion was followed by a fire.
Rescue workers have reported four injuries so far. The victims were taken to hospital. According to media reports, such as from"Omroep West", up to 20 victims are currently expected.
At around 11.30 a.m., the fire department reported that the fire had been almost completely extinguished. Meanwhile, the fire department was using sniffer dogs to search for more people in the rubble.
The cause of the explosion was unclear. Residents were instructed to close their windows and doors and turn off their ventilation systems due to the huge amounts of smoke.
