"I dragged myself out onto the street with the last of my strength. I was almost killed for good. I was lying in the middle of the street," says the "Cats Karma Mallorca" association, describing the situation from the cat's first-person perspective.

Fortunately, Mani, as she was later called, was rescued. But her life was hanging by a thread.

As a result of the accident, the four-legged friend suffered a fractured skull on one side and a broken lower jaw.

Mani was initially nursed back to health in an incubator, where she was given a continuous infusion and oxygen. But his condition remained critical.

In addition, the kitten had to undergo numerous examinations. After just under a week, there were already initial improvements. "Today I responded to external stimuli and was even able to lift my head up on my own. I really like being stroked."

But after just under 1.5 weeks, the next shock: Mani was diagnosed with a lesion in the brain stem and the left side of his brain. "This has probably caused an infection, excessive brain pressure and cerebral oedema, which was treated today with emergency medication. I'm now also being given stronger antibiotics and cortisone."

But Mani doesn't give up and keeps fighting her way back to life. She has now survived more than two weeks after the accident.

The animal lovers on Mallorca are asking for donations, as new examinations are always necessary to ensure that the cat can continue to be cared for. After just a few days, the costs amount to more than 4000 euros.
