Santa Barbara (California/USA) - Bulldog Hank has developed a particularly funny routine. Every evening at the same time, the furry friend sits down in a corner of the kitchen - until his owner Lizzy intervenes.

The US-American shared her dog's curious habit in a video on TikTok. The series of pictures shows how the four-legged friend sits in the corner of the kitchen in the evening and stares at the wall.

Behind this is Hank's love of cheese. Shortly after adopting him, Lizzy noticed her dog's passion.

Lizzy told Newsweek more about the fun routine: "I don't know why it's always at the same time at 8pm. Maybe it's because that's when I always sit down and turn on the TV. Over time, this corner routine has become firmly established."

But there could also be another reason for this curious habit.

"I think it started because he always got a small piece of cheese when we came back from going for a walk. At some point he would pretend he wanted to go out, only to sit outside the door and wait until I said 'cheese'," Lizzy revealed.

Eventually, Hank perfected his routine by simply sitting in the corner near the fridge.

Since then, he has stayed there every evening, waiting for a piece of cheese, preferably Manchego or Swiss cheese.

A doctor had confirmed to Lizzy that the routine would not harm the dog and that he was a healthy and active four-legged friend.

So nothing stands in the way of Hank's daily "cheese hour".
