All help came too late for him: Fatal knife attack on schoolboy (†17)

Frisco (Texas/USA) - The athletics event at a school in the US state of Texas has been overshadowed by a terrifying act of bloodshed. A 17-year-old was arrested after the knife attack - on suspicion of murder.

According to the police , Karmelo A. stabbed a 17-year-old student in the middle of the event on the Frisco high school grounds on Wednesday.

At around 10 a.m. (local time), he apparently got into an argument with the alleged perpetrator, the cause of which is not yet known.

In the course of the argument, the accused, who was the same age, is said to have suddenly stabbed the eleventh-grader.

"Despite life-saving measures by the police and fire department, including resuscitation and blood donation, the 16-year-old victim died," the police initially announced. The age of the victim has since been corrected to 17.

Knife attack overshadows athletics event in the US state of Texas

The prime suspect was arrested after the knife attack and has been in custody ever since.

"He is accused of murder. Bail has not yet been set." However, the investigators have not yet provided any further details on the background to the crime.

Students from a total of eight of the district's twelve educational institutions had competed in the athletics competition at Frisco High School'sDavid Kuykendall Stadium. However, the much-anticipated showdown of young athletes had become a minor matter due to the deadly violent crime.
