A month without alcohol? Woman tries to persuade her loved ones, the reactions are unique

Texas (USA) - New year, new resolutions. US American Harley Hurosky, for example, resolved to give up alcohol in January and wanted to get her family and friends on board. But she didn't expect the reactions of her loved ones!

"I ate and drank a lot during the holidays and didn't feel great," Harley told Fox News Digital.

Her plan: join the "Dry January" movement, give up drinks with "revolutions" for the first month of the year and feel better afterwards.

But Harley didn't want to be on dry January alone. So the blonde American decided to convince her parents and a few friends to take part in the experiment. This much in advance: her idea was not particularly well received!

As if Harley had a seventh sense, she recorded the conversations with her dad, friends and co. and later published them on TikTok. As a reward, the video has been viewed around 750,000 times to date!

Harley's father made the start, his face incredulous at his daughter's strange question. "'Dry' in the sense of drinking or is it about my skin? Because it's always pretty dry!" replied her dad and followed his answer with an extended "Nooo".

A friend of the American woman, on the other hand, almost grimaced in disgust and said that he was "absolutely not up for that". One of her friends, on the other hand, only laughed out loud at the obviously unworldly idea.

However, Harley was not discouraged by the reactions. She herself had already given up alcohol for a month and learned to "appreciate life without the dreaded hangover" afterwards. In retrospect, it was hardly surprising that her loved ones didn't exactly jump for joy.

"People who are close to me just love a good drink. Going without alcohol for a month doesn't really fit in with their lifestyle," Harley concluded.
