At the age of 112: Oldest man in the world dies
Southport - Since April, John Tinniswood (†112) was officially the oldest living man in the world. Now his family has confirmed that he passed away last Monday surrounded by his loved ones.
According to aBBC report, John Alfred Tinniswood was born on August 26, 1912.
At the age of 29, he met his future wife Blodwen at a dance in Liverpool.
Their marriage produced a daughter, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
After the Second World War, the veteran worked for the Royal Mail and Shell, among others, until he finally retired in 1972.
In the death notice, his family described John as "intelligent, decisive, courageous, calm in every situation, very talented in mathematics and a great conversationalist."
Even Queen Elizabeth II congratulated John with a postcard every year since his 100th birthday.
