Because demons told him to: Man slits his mother's throat!

England - It was a scene reminiscent of a horror movie: a man cut his mother's throat with a garden knife, ran away covered in blood and finally handed himself in to the police.

Anarlyn Jones (26) confessed to the gruesome murder of his mother, Anna Jones (†44), which took place at her home in England last year.

As The Sun reports, the trial against him began last Monday.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the then 25-year-old perpetrator called 911 himself after the crime and explained that demons had ordered him to kill his mother.

She had allegedly even begged him to do so. He also repeatedly said on the phone: "I killed my mother. I killed her."

However, the autopsy revealed a different picture: numerous defensive wounds were found on the mother's hands and arms, indicating that she was desperately fighting for her life.

Jones later confessed to drinking a bottle of wine on the day of the crime before going to his mother's house. He admitted that alcohol made him violent and aggressive.

Neighbors reported seeing him after the crime with blood-soaked pants and a bottle of brandy in his hand as he returned to his apartment. The scene reminded them of a "horror movie".

It was revealed in court that Jones had a chaotic family life and had received psychological support in the past.

Nevertheless, the prosecution emphasized that his mental health issues "were not the cause or a substantial factor in his decision to kill."

"As difficult as it may understandably be for the defendant to accept this (...), to come to terms with his crime, it is clear to us that he murdered his mother," the prosecution concluded.

The trial will continue.
