Everyday hero: Postman rushes to help man after serious fall and is honored!
USA - Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and one Illinois family has a very special reason to be thankful this year: a mail carrier was invited to their feast after rushing to the aid of a family member.
As People reports, Guy Miller was walking his dog in the neighborhood about a week ago when he suddenly fell and injured his head.
Jaylen Lockhart, a mail carrier, noticed the incident through the rearview mirror of his van and didn't hesitate for a second. He got out, rushed to Miller and immediately called an ambulance.
He also asked neighbors for the victim's address, asking them to stay with him, while he eventually ran to Miller's house to inform his wife Marcia about the accident.
"I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into, but I was sure we would get through it together," Lockhart said later.

The city's official Facebook account announced that Miller was injured but would recover.
"Jaylen's quick, selfless actions saved the day," the post read.
For his willingness to help, Lockhart not only won the appreciation of the community, but was invited to Thanksgiving dinner together by the Millers as a thank you.
"It's just really nice to see kindness, compassion and caring in the world," said Marcia.
