USA - The suspicions are serious: a dentist is under investigation for allegedly trying to present the murder of his wife as a suicide. Allegedly falsified evidence and staged affairs were used in the process.

The incident took place in the US state of Colorado. There, the dentist is said to have offered to falsify evidence in the murder trial of a former fellow inmate. The aim was to present his wife's death as a suicide.

As the New York Post reported, Dr. James Craig wrote a letter to a former fellow inmate from prison and tried to persuade him to place fake suicide notes in his house.

Craig wrote these in his cell and sent them to the man, who later placed them in his family home. In addition, he allegedly demanded that the ex-inmate find attractive women who would be willing to lie in court.

They were to claim to have had an affair with him, which allegedly drove his wife to take her own life out of despair.

In return, Craig promised free dental treatment for the mother of his fellow inmate. However, the plan failed due to a crucial mistake: Craig had addressed the letters incorrectly.

They were sent back, opened by a prison employee and finally discovered.

Angela Craig (43) died in March 2023 after the dentist poisoned her protein shakes. According to the prosecution, he had searched the internet for poisoning options and bought arsenic and cyanide in the days before Angela's death.

Among the searches he is accused of making are: "How many grams of pure arsenic will kill a person?", "Is arsenic detectable in an autopsy?", "The top 5 undetectable poisons that show no signs of cross-culpability" and "The 10 deadliest plants".

Craig is accused of premeditated murder, tampering with evidence and subornation of perjury. However, the dentist maintains his innocence and the trial is scheduled to begin in early January.
