She was held captive by her parents for years, now Jennifer has married
Rancho Cucamonga (USA) - In the US state of California, Jennifer Turpin, who was rescued from the infamous "House of Horrors", got married in gothic style.
Jennifer, who was held captive and abused at home by her parents for years along with her twelve siblings, has now started a new chapter in her life.
Six years after her liberation, she shares happy moments from her wedding on Instagram and speaks of her husband with love, as Daily Mail reports.
She celebrated her dream wedding in a unique gothic style, all in black and white. The ceremony was characterized by eerie elements: a coffin-shaped ring box, a cake decorated with black and red roses, and a fog machine that created a gloomy atmosphere.
Her twelve siblings were also invited to the wedding, but out of respect she did not publish any pictures of them, as she revealed in a comment on her post.
After all the suffering inflicted on her by her own parents, Jennifer is now at a turning point and is well on her way to starting a family of her own that will provide her with love and security.
What had happened to the Turpin children?
For years, the twelve Turpin children were rarely allowed to leave the house and lived in extreme conditions.
Their parents regularly beat them, chained them to their beds and often let them go hungry. Most of their meals consisted of two slices of bread with peanut butter or sausage and were only served once a day. They were also only allowed to wash once a year.
Jennifer and her siblings were freed in 2018 after the eldest brother, Jordan, climbed through a window to get help.
After their rescue, however, the children experienced another nightmare when they were placed in foster care. There, too, they were abused again.
The "horror parents" David and Louise Turpin are currently serving a life sentence after pleading guilty in 2021 to a number of offenses, including torture, child abuse, false imprisonment and endangering their children.
