Emu on the run: This ratite has been keeping animal rescuers busy for weeks

Spilsby - An emu has been on the run in the region of the small British town of Spilsby for weeks - and "helpers" from the local population are also to blame. Now the Boston police have posted a plea on Facebook.

The previous attempt to gain the emu's trust with food has unfortunately failed.

Animal rescuers from the National Exotics - Animal Rescue Service were called in to help catch the ratite - but unfortunately an incident spoiled the trip.

The experts tried to gain the animal's trust by feeding it in the same place every time for a while.

Then one day, however, people came and chased the animal with an off-road vehicle, thus undoing all the hard work.

The organization warned that the frightened emu could run in front of a vehicle and injure itself and others.

That is why animal rescuers and the police are asking the public to stay away from the elusive fowl. If you really want to help catch the animal, you should report sightings and take photos or videos of it.
