In one of the shop windows where real sex workers normally loll around for their potential customers, the police have installed a hologram of Bernadett Szabo in leopard-print shorts and a bra.

This hologram is not a digital form of hanky-panky, but has a serious background: the Hungarian woman was brutally murdered in 2009 at the age of 19.

Szabo was stabbed several times in her brothel room 15 years ago, shortly after giving birth to a baby boy.

The investigation was unsuccessful at the time and was put on ice. Now the Dutch police have new clues and hope that they will awaken the memories of possible witnesses.

"There are still people who know what happened to Betty," police spokesman Olav Brink told the AFP news agency. Investigators hope that possible witnesses will open up to the police after 15 years.
