Shock for Prince William and Princess Kate: men break into the castle

London (Great Britain) - What a shock: the royals have allegedly been burgled!

What a shock: they were all at home during the break-in.

It was a Sunday evening in October: The Sun reported that two men climbed over a 1.80 meter high fence to steal agricultural vehicles from the barn.

"They must have known the vehicles were stored there before they broke in, and they must have known the best time to escape without being caught," a source told the British tabloid.

This means that the burglars must have been watching Windsor Castle for a while beforehand.

After the thieves had packed up everything they wanted to take, they grabbed a truck and a quad bike on the property and raced through the security gate.

Particularly creepy: this gate is very close to Adelaide Cottage - the home of Prince William (42) and his wife Princess Kate (42) as well as their children George (11), Charlotte (9) and Louis (6).

"It was a Sunday night during a school week, so the young princes and princess were probably in bed at Adelaide Cottage, just around the corner," the source continued.

King Charles III (76) and Queen Camilla (77) were fortunately not in the vicinity. The 76-year-old was in Scotland at the time and Camilla was relaxing at a spa in India.

There is still no trace of the thieves!

Nothing happened to the royals during the break-in.

The thieves have not yet been located and there is still no trace of them. The police investigation is still ongoing.

Just a few weeks before the break-in, The Sun had reported that armed police officers were being withdrawn from the public entrances to the castle.

The reason: there were probably not enough qualified officers. Did this decision lead to the break-in at the royal palace?
