A worker walking the beach on Key Biscayne suddenly came across an unexpected find: a human skull stuck in the sand!
The police immediately cordoned off the affected section of beach to secure the area for a thorough investigation.
The identity of the head has now been clarified. It is Victor Enrique Castaneda Junior, as reported by the Miami Herald.
The 19-year-old had been swimming nearby with his 17-year-old sister a week earlier before an accident occurred.

On November 9, a tragic incident occurred at South Pointe Beach in Miami, a popular stretch of beach for locals and tourists alike.
Shortly before sunset, 19-year-old Victor and his sister went into the water near a jetty. Suddenly, they were caught by a strong current and drifted away from the shore.
"They called desperately for help," reported Victor's older sister, Jessica Castaneda. At that moment, the two were struggling against the powerful current.
Despite his desperate efforts, Victor managed to free his sister from the danger zone and bring her to safety.
But while the girl was saved, Victor went under.
Relatives mourn the loss of Viktor
Jessica had to watch in despair as her brother fought for survival in his last minutes.
Despite intensive searches by the rescue services overnight and in the days that followed, the 19-year-old initially remained missing.
For days, family and friends hoped that Victor's body would be found so that he could be given a dignified burial.
Only after many days of uncertainty did the coroner's office confirm the tragic death of the young man based on the head that was found.
In a moving ceremony, dozens of relatives and friends finally gathered for a funeral service on the beach.
