Pregnant cow's swimming trip goes wrong!
Ketton - A trip by an adventurous ungulate in England has come to acow-rious end.
The pregnant cow ended up in a private pool - and was unable to free itself.
The animal had signed up for a spa day, according to an ironic statement from the fire department. "The only problem was that it couldn't log itself out."
The emergency services drained the water and eventually pulled the animal out with a harness. An examination revealed that the cow and her unborn calf were fine.
Pool owner Ian Blackburn expressed his relief at the happy ending on the BBC. He had not even noticed the uninvited swimming guest.
"The doorbell rang - I was on the phone to a friend - and Andy, the farmer, was at the door," Blackburn said. "'Have you looked in your pool lately?' he asked, and I said, 'No, why? And he said, 'Well, there's a cow in there'."
Blackburn's conclusion: "You don't spend three or four hours every day trying to get a cow out of the pool."
