After two years: Scholz and Putin talk on the phone again!
Berlin - German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (66, SPD) and Russian President Vladimir Putin (72) are said to have spoken on the phone again for over two years.
This was reported by the"Süddeutsche Zeitung" on Friday afternoon. According to the report, the conversation lasted around an hour. The phone call is likely to have been about the situation in Ukraine once again.
It was the first dialog between the two politicians in more than two years. The last time Scholz and Putin spoke on the phone was in December 2022.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov had already announced to Russian media representatives that Vladimir Putin would hold "several international talks" today, Friday.
