Vegan bride can't believe what a guest gets up to during the wedding feast

It was supposed to be the best day of her life, but the bride (28) in this story ended up sitting on the toilet crying while her husband had to expel several people from the wedding. Now the furious newlywed has taken to the internet to vent her anger - but the reactions are yet another slap in the face for her.

The woman, who published her experience on the Reddit platform, married her husband (30) last weekend. During the preparations for their wedding, the couple attached great importance to the food and therefore spent a lot of money on the planned buffet.

"My husband (30) and I have been vegan for three years and we decided to make the reception completely vegan," she wrote on Reddit. They sat down with a chef for months to work out a special five-course menu, which ended up costing them around 15,000 dollars (the equivalent of 14,200 euros).

The bride and groom wanted to surprise their guests with the dishes. Above all, because they wanted people to eat "without prejudice". "Every dish should be delicious and filling, regardless of dietary preferences," explains the 28-year-old.

After a "beautiful" ceremony, it was time to feast.

The bride noticed that her older brother Tom was strangely not in his seat. Twenty minutes later, the bride was finally to find out where the 32-year-old had been hanging out during this time.

Her brother and cousins suddenly entered the room with 20 large pizzas. The 28-year-old was "horrified". "They started handing them out to the guests and announced: 'Real food for anyone who wants it'," she wrote on Reddit.

The action was not only incredibly unpleasant for the bride and groom, the caterers were also confused.

"When I confronted Tom, he said that my aunt had texted him that 'all the food was vegetables' and that they 'couldn't let people go hungry at a wedding'," she continues.

The other guests were completely clueless and thought the action was a joke by the bride and groom.

The 28-year-old's mother-in-law even announced on Facebook that her son's wedding had been "saved by pizza" because the bride had tried to "force everyone to eat rabbit food". The 28-year-old then burst into tears and hid in the bathroom.

Meanwhile, her husband threw Tom and the cousins out on edge.

Internet users blame bride for misery

But the misery didn't end there: after the men had to leave the party, other relatives also got involved, calling the bride and groom "stuck-up" and accusing them of ruining their wedding themselves by "imposing their beliefs" on everyone.

Half the family also accused the couple of not having been warned about the vegan menu.

The bride therefore asked on Reddit whether she was "the asshole" in the situation.

However, the users on the platform reacted differently than she had certainly hoped in advance.

Many users are of the opinion that the bride herself was to blame, as she had not been honest about the food. Even if most of them don't approve of the pizza campaign, they accuse the bride of having "deliberately concealed" the menu because she knew the guests wouldn't like it.

"Yes, it's your special day, but it doesn't help anyone if you're faking it," reads one in the comments section.
