Woman dies shortly after giving birth to her son: Then the grieving widower learns the unbelievable

Reddit - As if the death of his beloved wife wasn't tragic enough, a grieving man (32) also learns a truth that will change everything for him. The widower is now desperately looking for advice on the internet.

"I (32M) am devastated and don't know where to turn," the unidentified man wrote on Reddit. Last month, the worst time of his life began. His wife died unexpectedly, just seven months after the birth of their son.

"She developed peripartum cardiomyopathy, a rare and severe form of heart failure that can occur in the months after giving birth," the widower said. The doctors had done everything in their power to save her, but in the end the new mother died.

"Losing her so suddenly left me inconsolable and in a constant state of grief." But the difficult time was to take an even worse turn when the deceased's best friend suddenly turned up on the man's doorstep.

The 32-year-old remembers: "She was visibly nervous and finally told me that she wanted to tell me something sensitive." She finally came out with the fact that the wife had not been completely faithful around the time her son was conceived. The whole thing had happened during the day while she was at work.

At first, the widower didn't want to admit to the fraud, but the question remained in the back of his mind as to whether the child was actually not his.

After agonizing days, the man finally decided to take a DNA test. The result? Shocking! "My worst fears were confirmed, my son is not biologically mine."

The 32-year-old now rightly feels "lost and betrayed". Above all, his bond with his deceased wife's seven-month-old child is suffering from the terrible truth. "The pain of my wife's infidelity is so fresh and I don't know if I'll ever get over it."

On Reddit, the betrayed man explains that he feels he is unable to give the child the love and care it deserves.

Many users on the platform advised him to contact the affair and his family first and foremost. After all, the child's biological father has a right to know the truth. Adoption would be the last option for the 32-year-old, but he wanted to give the baby the best life possible. "The child is innocent, but I don't think I would be able to love it or care for it the way I should," he admits.

And he adds: "I don't hate the baby and I'm not so crazy that I would throw him out of the house. Whatever happens, happens according to the rules."

Thanks to all the advice on Reddit, however, he now has a plan for what to do next. "I'm not going to immediately abandon a child just because it's not mine."
