159-kilo teacher takes a misstep: pupil has to go to hospital with back injuries

Minnesota (USA) - Only when the boy burst into tears did he let go of him. A teacher from the US state of Minnesota stood on the children lying on the ground during a fire drill. The big problem: Jason Rogers (48) weighs 159 kilograms!

According to a report in the New York Post, a mother noticed one day that her son was "walking around like an 80-year-old with back pain". The two went to the doctor together. The doctor discovered that the little boy had enormous injuries to his back and spine.

When asked where these injuries came from, the boy told his mother that he had been abused at school - not by nasty bullying from his classmates, but by one of his teachers!

He reported that he and his classmates had to lie on their stomachs on the floor during a fire drill. This exercise is designed to prevent the kids from getting smoke inhalation in an emergency. But as it turned out, Jason Rogers - the teacher - took advantage of this situation to punish the children in a cruel way if he didn't like their behavior.

With his 159 kilos of body weight, he stood on the backs of the troublemakers and stood there for a few seconds.

Jason Rogers admits to police that he stepped on children

A short time later, Rogers was arrested by police officers. He quickly confessed, but denied some details.

For example, he told police that during the exercise he merely told the class that he could now step on the children without any problems. He had "demonstrated" this with one boy by placing his foot on the boy's spine and slowly shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

When the boy screamed "ouch", he is said to have immediately asked if everything was all right. In his statement, he also admitted to stepping on two other children. A lawsuit is now pending against him.

Since then, the 159-kilo man has been on paid administrative leave.
