Woman feels something crawling over her at night: When she touches it, she jumps out of bed!

Bribie Island (Australia) - For most people, a moment like this remains a nightmare forever, from which you luckily wake up again. Not so for an Australian woman from Bribie Island. Last Friday, Ashley Rhodes literally experienced first-hand what it's like to have something crawl up your bed at night.

It didn't get any better when the woman caught hold of a cock on her leg. Rhodes quickly jumped out of bed. Then she saw the uninvited guest: a Rauthenpython!

Frightened, she fled the bedroom with her dogs . Then she called the "Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers", as Yahoo News Australia currently reports.

"I think anyone, even me, would probably be a bit creeped out if I was woken up unexpectedly in the middle of the night by a snake in pitch darkness (...) but yeah, she was definitely pretty scared," snake catcher Summer Woolston told the news site.

Despite the scary situation, the victim still had an ace up her sleeve.

Rhodes used to be a snake owner herself - a far cry from the people who have a phobia of these reptiles. But being woken up in her sleep by a python was a real house number, even for her.

But not only Rhodes, the animal guest also had his sensitivities. "It's quite normal for a snake to get scared when it sees a human or a dog and then simply look for the nearest escape point," says Woolston.

A photo of the Snake Catchers shows that the python probably tried to leave in the same way it had come: a hole in the wall behind the bed where an electrical socket had previously been installed.

Unfortunately, there was nothing Woolston could do for the woman because the snake was now stuck somewhere in the wall. Rhodes therefore taped up the hole.

Just one night later, the frightening moment was repeated. But this time the rhomboid python did not crawl back into the hole. Another snake catcher from the Snake Catchers rushed over and transported the animal to the bush - hopefully for good.
