Whale watchers can hardly believe their eyes: group of orcas kills the largest animal on earth
Bremer Bay (Australia) - When you think of the giant blue whales, you probably wouldn't think of a natural enemy that could kill the largest animal in the world. However, tourist guides in Australia have now observed a group of orcas doing just that in a bloody massacre. It took less than an hour for the giant sea creature's fate to be sealed.

The employees of the company "Naturaliste Charters Whale Watching" from Australia could hardly believe their eyes when they saw what an orca group, consisting of several so-called schools, drifted before their eyes.
The guides, who have certainly experienced some fascinating moments during their work, had just been off the coast of Bremer Bay in Western Australia when not only a blue whale, but also over 60 killer whales appeared in front of them.
What followed were 40 extremely brutal minutes in which the orcas hunted the 18-metre-long blue whale and finally brought it down with targeted attacks.
The tourist guides captured the incredible moment in several bloody pictures, which show, among other things, how one of the killer whales ventured into the blue whale's huge mouth and bit out a piece of flesh. One Facebook user suspects that the orcas were after the whale's tongue, which is said to taste particularly good.Attention! The following images may disturb some people
"When the blue whale's fate was sealed, the orcas celebrated with leaps and tail slaps," reads the Facebook post from "Naturaliste Charters Whale Watching". According to the company, it was only the fourth documented case of such an event to date. "An extraordinary reminder of their role as apex predators in the ocean," it continues.
At the end of last year, researchers in Bolivia were able to observe a group of killer whales attacking and eating the largest fish on earth .
Such attacks reveal how well the orcas work together strategically to kill such huge prey.
