Many owners are sure that they know their pets inside out. However, sometimes pets exhibit behavior that their owners are quite surprised by. That's what happened to Alyssa when she checked her pet's camera while she was away.

No animal likes having to wait alone at home for its owner. This is also the case for Alyssa's dachshund. The miniature dog normally barks as soon as his owner leaves the apartment without him.

The cute dachshund recently proved that this can sometimes not be the case.

Alyssa has installed a pet camera in her home so that she can keep an eye on her four-legged friend. When she was out and about again without her pet, it was suddenly suspiciously quiet.

At first, Alyssa thought the camera was broken because there were no more updates or messages. When she opened the app and checked, she was met with a heartbreaking sight.

Instead of barking or jittery, she found her furry friend waiting dutifully outside the door. The dog owner put two images from the surveillance camera into a clip and published it on TikTok. It has since been viewed more than 31,000 times.

"When you don't get messages about your dog barking and you check the camera to make sure everything is working," Alyssa captioned her TikTok video.

In the first photo, the dachshund can be seen sitting on the sofa backrest right next to the door with his head down.

In the other snapshot, he is lying asleep on the floor. Alyssa "simply didn't know" that the little four-legged friend sometimes waits so cutely for his owner, she admitted on TikTok .

The TikToker revealedto Newsweek that her dog is always at the door when she comes home. "And when he hears me coming, he goes into his crib and pretends he's been there the whole time."
