Ontario (Canada) - A puppy rescue can be so funny: since the beginning of the week, a video has been going viral on TikTok in which a street dog and her offspring are rescued. The reason for this is the mother dog herself.

Yes, where is she? In this curious clip, the cubs are on fire when they see their rescuer filming them. But their mom is conspicuous by her absence.

Finally, the camera pans to a corner. There sits the fur nose in a cardboard box. As soon as the camera is pointed at her, the dog tries to hide in it too.

It's clear that she's absolutely not in the mood for her kids at this moment. The TikTok audience finds this all the funnier: 575,000 clicks have already been accumulated.

The video is being distributed by the "Northern Reach Network", an animal rescue organization from Ontario, Canada.

Newsweek spoke to its president Amie this week to find out whether the dogs have since been reunited.

Misty was severely underweight, the animal rights activist said. "As soon as she was safe and saw that her babies had a safe, enclosed area, she took a well-earned nap."

The retreat from her puppies was short-lived, however. Misty usually takes great care of her little ones. However, she also has her very own needs.

"Misty now has an area where she can easily hop over to feed her babies at any time. At the same time, she also has a place where her babies aren't constantly feeding on her, so she can rest in peace," the Canadian explained to the US magazine.

It remains to be seen what will happen to the dogs now. At least one thing is certain: they are living with volunteers and not in an animal shelter. Because the Northern Reach Network deliberately does not have one.
