What was done to this elderly four-legged friend breaks hearts
Detroit (USA) - Rejection and rejection - that's what a sickly and elderly four-legged friend from Detroit in the USA experienced.

The police animal welfare department received a call last week. His owner had reported dog "Duke" to the police as a stray.
But when officers arrived at the property, they noticed that the alleged stray was trying to get into the house from which the call had come. The four-legged friend is said to have repeatedly tried to get in via the front and side doors.
According to one officer, Duke gave the impression that he did not understand why he was outside. The police quickly realized that the caller was the dog 's real owner and obviously wanted to get rid of him.
Despite all her efforts to pretend that she did not know the four-legged friend at all, the officers noticed a microchip on the dog. And lo and behold - the caller was identified as Duke's owner.
The animal welfare organization that later took in the poor fellow posted a statement on Facebook about the incident and expressed its dismay. No one can understand how you can report your own dog, which you should love, as a stray.
Duke is also struggling with health problems

The family, whom he loved very much, simply denied him, the organization continues to complain. After hearing the story, they decided to cover the costs of Duke's medical care.
As it turned out, the four-legged friend was suffering from Lyme disease and his blood values were also worrying.
They now want to provide Duke with all the support he needs for his recovery, "so that he has the opportunity to live in a home with a family that really loves and cares for him."
The charity is now hoping that Duke's former owner will be punished for her behavior.
