It's easy for Australian Chey (31) to create cute content for her social media profiles. In addition to her son Louis, who turned one a few days ago, she also has a little dachshund living under her roof.

It was certainly a great wish of the mother that dog and child would get along well. Apparently Chey had to be patient for around a year before a friendship developed between the two.

After months of making advances, the woman from Melbourne now "caught" her dachshund and her son Louis playing together.

Naturally, this had to be capturedon video.

The 31-year-old publishes a clip on Instagram and TikTok in which the one-year-old can be seen sitting on the floor in the living room when the family dog comes running up with a yellow tennis ball.

It quickly becomes clear that the two understand each other without words, as the dachshund rolls his beloved ball towards the boy, who immediately throws it in the direction of the four-legged friend. The dog waits patiently as the toy rolls a little further away and the one-year-old has to crawl a little.

Mother Chey writes movingly on the video that you can see the "beginning of a lifelong friendship" here. "They are going to have so much fun together," says the Australian happily. The post has already been viewed over 400,000 times on her Instagram profile .

Users praise the dog's "intelligence and sensitivity" in particular. "It never ceases to amaze me how quickly babies and children learn," writes one viewer.

The friendship between animal and toddler was apparently foreshadowed months ago. Last July, mother Chey filmed her dachshund getting tentative cuddles from Louis.
