The Grand Junction Fire Department posted on Facebook about the mid-January rescue operation at a US family home. Cooper the curious nose apparently fell through a hole in a floor vent while exploring!

The injured pooch was unable to free himself and his family alerted the emergency services. A photo released by the fire department shows Cooper apparently stuck in a crawl space between floors - and halfway down a ventilation pipe!

"Fortunately, our experienced firefighters acted quickly and safely and rescued Cooper without a scratch," the dog rescuers assured in the post.

It remains to be seen whether the four-legged friend's urge to explore has been tamed.

Now the energetic puppy can go exploring again. Perhaps Cooper has now also learned that it's not worth sticking his nose in everywhere ...
