He looked after his brother's dogs: Man (†33) mauled by banned XL bullies
Birmingham (Great Britain) - Is the dog to blame or its owner? In the UK in particular, there has been a heated debate for years about the American Bully XL breed, which originated in the USA. Fatal incidents occur time and again , including in Birmingham, where a man (†33) died while looking after his brother's dogs.

XL Bullies have been on the list of banned dog breeds in the UK since the beginning of 2024. Owners of the four-pawed dogs had protested massively against this, but were no longer able to prevent the decision.
Many owners found loopholes in the new regulation or simply opposed it. This also proved fatal for Nicholas Glass.
During an inquest at Birmingham Coroner's Court this week, an officer testified that West Midlands Police were called to a house in Birmingham on August 21, 2024. Neighbors had reported dogs running loose in the street, as reported by BBC and ITV News, among others.
Officers discovered Glass's body in the garden of the house. He was reportedly looking after his brother's dogs when they attacked him.
"It is possible that he was attacked when he returned to the house, that he managed to leave the house through a window and call for help. He was also able to hide behind wood paneling before succumbing to his injuries," deputy coroner Adam Hodson said, according to ITV News.

Coroner speaks of "terrible tragedy"
As reported by the BBC, an autopsy revealed that the 33-year-old had died as a result of dog bites. He had wounds on his left arm so deep that the bone was visible.
The investigators bagged four dogs - including two banned XL bullies! "In my opinion, this is a terrible tragedy," said Coroner Hodson.
"[Glass] was a caring brother and son who simply offered to take care of his brother's dogs and lost his life as a result."
