Colorado (USA) - "What the heck!" That seems to have been Golden Retriever Benny's thought process when he recently welcomed his owner home.

The four-legged friend immediately noticed that something was wrong with her. And he was not at all happy about it.

In a short clip on TikTok on Thursday, the dog's owner, Fernanda Miller, published this very moment - and couldn't help but laugh to herself.

Benny can be seen sniffing Miller's upper body and looking up at her again and again in amazement.

The young woman just giggles and tries to reassure the dog that everything is okay. Benny, however, sees things differently.

Once again, he looks at his owner in disappointment. When she finally stretches out her hand to stroke his head, he backs away in frustration and disappears from the picture.

"Oh," mumbles Miller sadly. It will probably take some time to regain her dog's trust. But what was the reason that Benny reacted so angrily to his owner's return?

As Miller explained, she had been out and about that very day and had played with another dog before going home to Benny. And her beloved golden retriever had smelled it immediately.

In the caption of the clip, the young woman laughed and described the dog as "so theatrical."

Within a few hours, the post on TikTok had already been clicked on more than 135,000 times. Users reacted enthusiastically in the comments.

"Thorough sniffing investigation", one of them titled the dog's procedure, to which Miller only smiled: "He checked every inch!"

When asked to beg forgiveness from the furry friend, she declared straight away: "I did!" It remains to be seen when Benny will be ready to accept this apology.
