Netherlands - What was this cheeky dog trying to do? When golden retriever Bearson recently scratched at the patio door of his home, his owner immediately rushed to his aid - only to frown in surprise.

As soon as she opened the door for him, the four-legged friend didn't walk past her into the house as she had expected.

Quite the opposite!

As can be seen in a short video on TikTok , the dog instead takes a swipe and runs away as fast as he can.

"Please explain to me why he scratches at the door because he wants to come in, but then does THIS when I open the door?" his owner asked with amusement, filming the animal running madly through the garden.

Bearson kept stopping, looking up to see if his owner was still there and then running off again. And he seemed to be having the time of his life.

"I guess he just wants to play and not really come in," the young woman amused herself in the video caption.

One thing is certain: Bearson loves his owners more than anything.

He proved this to them recently when his mistress took a look at the footage from her surveillance camera during an outing without her pet.

Instead of causing chaos and destroying the entire apartment as expected, the dog simply sat sadly on his favorite chair - and waited for his loved ones to come back.

By the way: just a few days ago, Bearson's owner made some sad news public! The very chair that Bearson loves to curl up on has now become too small for the golden retriever.

We can only hope that he will get a new one soon.
