USA - "Once upon a time there was a dog who met his soulmate ..." With these words, the owners of golden retriever Leo introduced a new video on their TikTok account on Wednesday.

You can see the male dog lying lonely and alone on a couch. His gaze is downcast, sadness in his eyes.

"Why did you get a second dog?" is a question that Leo's owner has been asked time and again. With this clip, she answered it once and for all.

While Leo lies pensively on the cushion, the caption reads: "Leo before Louie."

This is followed by clips of the four-legged friend standing alone by a window, lying in his basket without any joie de vivre and sitting sorrowfully on the floor.

A sight that the owners of the furry friend simply could no longer bear. So they decided to get another Golden Retriever - and this soon turned out to be the best idea ever.

"Leo with Louie" was the title the owners gave to the other shots of the dogs that flickered across viewers' screens.

The four-legged friends can be seen romping around happily, jumping through a river, playing on the couch, fighting over a cuddly toy and beaming from ear to ear.

Little Louie gets bigger from clip to clip and has now grown into a full-grown male.

What the family's followers immediately notice is that Leo seems to have found a new zest for life thanks to his little brother, finally appearing happy and alert at his side.

One thing is certain: the two may not have been looking for each other, but they certainly found each other. Best friends, forever.
