In a TikTok video by American Jamie Simpson, you can see the incident that could probably happen to any of us: While she is cooking in her parents' house, something suddenly catches fire in the pot.

At first, only thick smoke rises, but soon high flames shoot out of the saucepan.

"Oh my God", Jamie, who suffers from epilepsy among other things, can be heard crying out in despair in the clip. Her assistance dog, a border collie called "Echo", has quickly grasped the situation and rushes to help his mistress. In his mouth, he first carries a bowl of water to Jamie, who, however, simply throws the container into the flames in excitement. She then tries to smother the fire with a pan.

Echo, realizing that his owner's attempts are not having the desired effect, rushes to the fridge, opens it and then brings Jamie a bottle of water. "You're so clever, Echo," the American praises her dog.

When the clip ends, it looks as if the dog owner has finally brought the fire under control. She posted the incident on TikTok with the words: "Watch me almost burn down my parents' house."

Her viewers, however, are more interested in the behavior of Border Collie Echo, who immediately and confidently initiated a rescue operation. "Girl, you better list that dog as an emergency contact," writes one user. Another jokes: "He was watching Paw Patrol."

Meanwhile, other annoyed users point out that you should never extinguish a grease fire with water, but should always try to smother the flames.

In any case, the video shows that Jamie's dog is not only a great support in medical emergencies, but would also help immediately in other life situations.
