Smartsville (California/USA) - An animal rescuer was bitterly reproached when he placed a husky with the "wrong" family. But the story had a happy ending after all!

Normally, "West Coast Cane Corso Rescue" is known for placing dogs of the Italian dog breed "Cane Corso" in tranquil Smartsville.

But in October 2024, the shelter took in a husky named Guy, who was rescued alongside 33 other huskies from an alleged animal rescue center, as Newsweek reports.

Since two of the four-legged friends died and the rest had to endure unimaginable torture, the police are now investigating the head of the center, Brady Fehr (67).

Guy was one of the 33 dogs that were tortured. The rescue center in Smartsville therefore set out to find a suitable family for the male dog.

In an Instagram video, an employee explained that there were two potential owners to choose from. In the end, the young man decided to hand over the four-legged friend to an interested family. But that turned out to be a mistake.

"The family didn't like him at all. They said they were scared of him and gave him back. I messed up," the employee reproached himself.

He then contacted the other applicant, whose name was Abraham. Fortunately, he was still interested in the handsome furry friend: "He came and picked him up. Since then, everything has been a celebration of love. I keep getting sweet messages and updates saying how happy they are."

Followers on Instagram are happy for Guy and believe it was fate. As one person wrote: "He's where he's supposed to be."
