The reason for the four-legged friend's excitement was quickly identified. A deer head attached to the wall had sent Gunnar into panic mode.

It seemed to the tracking dog as if the stag was staring directly at him. His owner captured the interesting moment on video and added: "He didn't understand why the deer was in my bedroom and not in the forest."

The dog probably couldn't understand at that moment how he could have missed the deer despite his impeccable sense of smell, causing him considerable confusion and upsetting him.

"That was the first time he saw the deer on the wall," Gunnar's mistress told Newsweek. "By now, though, he's largely gotten used to the decoration."

Bavarian mountain dogs are known for their ability to read tracks and track game. They are persistent and fast, but at the same time very loyal and affectionate towards their owners.
