Dog simply abandoned during cold snap - animal shelter appeals to owners!
USA - It's a terrible fate that a dog suffered: he was tied to a pole in freezing weather and left alone!

Just over a week ago, an animal shelter in the US city of Richmond confirmed that a pit bull mix had been tied to a bus pole the night before.
As People reported, the dog was abandoned while a cold snap swept the city. In some areas, temperatures dropped to an icy minus 13 degrees.
Fortunately, the sweet four-legged friend is said to be doing well after being rescued by shelter staff.
"To the person who tied their dog to the bus pole last night in the freezing cold: Do better!", the animal shelter posted on Facebook, along with two cute photos of the rescued dog.
It is unclear who abandoned the pit bull mix

A spokeswoman for the facility explained that the case is currently being investigated. So far, it is unclear who abandoned the dog.
"The shelter should be your very last port of call. It's stressful, we euthanize, and we don't want your pet there," the spokeswoman explained.
She emphasized that there are better alternatives and that it is by no means necessary to simply abandon animals .
Pet owners looking for a new home for their pet should contact no-kill rescue organizations or talk to family and friends before surrendering their pet to a kill shelter or pound.
