Guarulhos (Brazil) - A few days ago, a dog in Guarulhos, Brazil, found itself in an awkward situation when it threatened to fall out of a window. But a neighbor rescued him with a cardboard box. Now she is being celebrated as a hero.

According to a report byThe Dodo, a resident named Yasmin Saraiva noticed a commotion on the street outside her apartment window. A small crowd of people faced her when she looked out.

She quickly realized that the neighbor's dog from the apartment above her was in great danger. Apparently, the four-legged friend had climbed out of the window and was stuck between a protective device and the window shutter. He was in danger of falling several meters - presumably to his death.

"I didn't think about it, I just acted," Saraiva told The Dodo. "I looked around and found a box." Footage of the dramatic rescue operation can be found on social media. Saraiva managed to catch the dog with the box when he lost his strength and fell down.

The local news site "Jornal Guarulhos Hoje" also reported on the glorious rescue. In the comments on Instagram, some users have now given her the status of a "heroine".
