Curious guests: Groom-to-be expects surprise at bachelor party

San Diego (USA) - A groom-to-be from San Diego, California, was surprised by some very special party guests during his bachelor party - and they weren't strippers!

His bride-to-be herself is responsible for the surprise, which is quite literally an animal surprise. Stephanie Chan revealed to her fiancé in advance that she had prepared something very special for him, something special to "touch".

While some of his friends' thoughts were spinning in all directions, the groom already knew what to expect: The great animal lover was surprised by his future wife with a horde of different animals .

But not with cute puppies or velvety kittens. As reported by"People", the 27-year-old teamed up with the nature conservation organization "Critter Encounters", who delivered two possums, an owl, a raccoon and a teju (a lizard) to the party.

The groom couldn't have been happier about the unexpected guests. "He was thrilled! It brought out his inner child," Chan enthuses about his reaction.

His groomsmen were also said to have been delighted, with the raccoon and possums in particular being the highlight of the evening.

The party surprise also attracts criticism

But there was a catch: as you need a permit to touch owls in California, the men were not allowed to stroke them. But this did not dampen the mood.

Stephanie Chan posted a video of the party afterwards and it has since gone viral on TikTok.

She also explained there that the animal welfare organization uses its donations to care for animals that cannot be released into the wild. They are all "fully vetted, rabies-free and cared for by trained professionals".

However, not everyone is reacting so positively to the video online. The animal welfare organization PETA wrote in the comments: "Animals used for events are often subjected to stress, captivity and constant treatment. If you love animals, it's best not to fund their suffering."
