Outcast neighbor's cat begs for attention: when child and animal meet, hearts melt

Nashville (USA) - Two people were looking for each other and found each other! When a family in the US state of Tennessee realized that a neighbor's cat was vying for their attention, Nikky and her relatives were initially hesitant. But a personal encounter between the feline and her son changed everything.

The TikTok user named "travelfoodiemom" shows how they got to know each other in a video.

At first, the four-legged friend discarded by the neighbors came by to sniff each other out on the terrace, where he was eyed with interest by Nikky's youngest offspring "Nash". However, they were skeptical about letting the pet into the apartment or even adopting it.

But a special bond had long since developed between the boy and the animal.

The clip from December 1 with the meaningful title "Welcome home" shows an encounter between child and cat virtually in the wild. The boy runs towards the cat, somewhat clumsily, but the cat doesn't avoid him and is even happy about the awkward strokes the boy gives her.

That's when Nicky realized that "Ryobi", as the cat was called, would have to be part of the family from then on.

In another TikTok video , she explains that they had the cat examined by a vet.

They also tried to wash the cat, which was unsuccessful. The cat still has a few black spots, but is otherwise said to be doing well.

As the owner revealed to Newsweek , Ryobi just has her own ideas about a place to sleep, preferring the table to a bed. However, she finds it "funny how he says, 'Oh, I'm going to be picky now'".

What's more, the cat would feel right at home on the sofa.

She has already been busy kneading it with her paws, which shows how much she likes it there. The TikTok community also likes the video, which has already been viewed more than 500,000 times and liked more than 67,000 times.
