Montana (USA) - After grabbing a toy with his paw, Hamilton the cat fell off the scratching post. His funny mishap caught the attention of many viewers.

In the hilarious clip, shared by Hamilton's owner Maggie on her TikTok channel 'maggie.kub', Hamilton takes an unfortunate tumble while playing with a ball attached to the scratching post, landing on a table before running off in embarrassment.

"I hope his birth mother knows she gave birth to an idiot," Maggie added to the video as a humorous message.

Hamilton originally lived with five other cats in a tiny kennel at the shelter - until Maggie came along and adopted him.

The young woman immediately fell in love with the sweet cat and spoiled him with toys, treats and endless affection, but soon realized that he was not the smartest of his kind.

As a result, the house cat was always having accidents, knocking over objects or flying off his cat tree. The clumsy velvet paw has long since become a viral star on TikTok.

Numerous viewers laughed at the funny accident, but many were also worried about the cat's health. Maggie reassured her followers in the comments section: "I promise he's fine, but he definitely scared me to death."

"The way he jumped.... I'm so glad he's okay," wrote one user, while another commented, "He's a beautiful boy. Not particularly coordinated, but definitely beautiful."
