Training flight ends in drama! Two air force jets collide here

Saint-Dizier (France) - Two air force jets collided this Tuesday afternoon in eastern France . The fact that no one was killed is a miracle in view of the images - and is due to the quick-witted actions of everyone involved.

According to the French Air and Space Forces, the accident occurred at around 3.40 p.m. near a military base in Saint-Dizier, a community of around 22,000 inhabitants, around 250 kilometers east of the capital Paris.

According to the report, two Alpha Jet aircraft of the "Patrouille de France" collided during an exercise for an air show for as yet unexplained reasons.

One of the two planes crashed into a silo as a result of the collision, while the other "crashed into a swampy wooded area directly behind it", explained the local mayor Quentin Brière.

In addition to the jet crash, video footage circulating on social networks also shows the formation flight with five other aircraft shortly before the collision.

The images also capture the rescue operation of the people involved in the incident. They apparently managed to escape death at the last second, confirmed Defense Minister Sébastien Lecornu (38).

"The two pilots and a third, who was a passenger on one of the planes , were able to eject and are safe and sound," the 38-year-old announced on the social media platform X, adding that his thoughts were with the victims of the accident.

Further details are not known. Investigations into the exact cause of the accident have been launched.
