"From my window seat I saw the plane coming in behind us, it seemed very close," Canadian passenger Jackie Patton told North Shore News. "A few seconds later there was a very loud noise and the plane shook. It was immediately clear that something was wrong."

On X, Patton shared video footage documenting the incident yesterday morning (local time): Apparently a Japan Airlines plane slammed its right wing into the tail of her plane!

"I didn't see the impact myself, but the shaking and the loud noise that came out of nowhere was scary," Patton told the newspaper.

Kassie McKnight-Xi, a spokeswoman for Seattle-Tacoma Airport, told North Shore News, "The incident involved a taxiing Japan Airlines plane that appeared to have collided with the rear of a parked Delta Air Lines plane." No one was injured, she said.

The US Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the accident

According to airport spokeswoman McKnight-Xi, the accident would not have had any major impact on flight operations.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the incident occurred in an area not monitored by air traffic control. However, the authority said it had suspended some flights to the airport and now wants to investigate the case further.

A few days ago, a 64-year-old man was seriously injured in Chicago after the wing of a plane rammed into an aircraft tractor. At the end of January, 67 people died in a plane crash in Washington D.C.
