Passenger waits for take-off and films lightning striking his plane!
São Paulo (Brazil) - A British Airways passenger filmed a lightning strike on his plane at an airport in São Paulo , Brazil !

Bernhard Warr shared the impressive footage with delayed speed on X on Friday, January 24. The news agency Reuters also reported on the clip, which has been circulating on social media ever since.
According to the report, the lightning struck the rear of the plane while it was at a gate at São Paulo-Guarulhos Airport (GRU).
"I'm at GRU waiting to go home, but my plane had to go out for inspection. What kind of control will there be?" wrote Warr on X. His question apparently went unanswered. After some delay, Warr later announced that he had landed safely in London , UK .

Lightning strikes in airplanes are not uncommon. According to a report in the FAZ, all of today's passenger aircraft have been tested to withstand a lightning strike without any problems. In most cases, however, the aircraft are already in the air.
