According to the US Federal Aviation Administration, the HondaJet HA-420, which was carrying five people, came off the runway while landing at Southwest Oregon Regional Airport in North Bend early Monday morning (local time).

According to the airport, the business jet from Utah came to a halt just 30 meters behind the runway - in the seawater of "Coos Bay", where the water was just 1.5 meters deep.

Passengers and pilot, all slightly injured, were taken to hospital.

Four hours after the incident, emergency services fished the crashed aircraft out of the water using a barge.
