Paris - Because a passenger had a panic attack just a few minutes before departure, he jumped out of the plane without further ado.

The Iberia plane was on its way from Orly airport in Paris to Madrid on Friday, according to Mallorca Magazine (MM).

According to media reports, the man was already nervous before take-off, which was scheduled for 5.20 pm. When the plane finally taxied towards the runway, the passenger jumped up.

Apparently he was struggling with a panic attack. The man opened one of the emergency doors. He is also said to have attacked a flight attendant beforehand.

Because one of the emergency slides deployed after he opened it, he did not fall, a spokeswoman told MM.

Several emergency services had to be deployed and the incident is now being investigated in more detail. The plane was finally able to take off for the Spanish capital at 10.20 pm.
