During training flight: plane crashes into the sea, five police officers die

According to the police, the small plane crashed into the Gulf of Thailand around 100 meters off the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan province on Friday morning. The area is particularly popular with tourists.

The plane was carrying a total of six police officers, including the pilot. Five of the six officers were killed in the crash.

The sixth police officer survived, but had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.

As reported by Bild, fishermen who had witnessed the accident immediately called the rescue services. However, it proved difficult to salvage the wreckage as the crashed plane was far from the shore.

Flight recorders should provide clues to the cause of the accident

The authorities are now trying to find out how the crash could have happened and have announced a comprehensive investigation.
